Trump Has Done More in One Month Than Obama Did in Eight Years
I work hard to get out of my echo chamber. I want to know all sides of an issue. I want to know what people who disagree with me are thinking. Over the years, my beliefs have evolved tremendously, and I do not want them to stop evolving now. This desire leads me to read articles all across the political spectrum, and to read the comments section of major news outlets.
When I read the comments on Fox News’ Facebook page, I find myself seeing a particular theme over and over again: “Donald Trump has done more in one month than Obama did in 8 years!”
And I agree.
Trump has done more to foster hatred in this country. He has done more to embolden those who hate specific groups of people based on their nationality or religion, to announce or even act on their hatred.
Trump has done more than Obama to undermine journalism and threaten the freedom of the press.
He has done more to convince his loyal followers that anyone, even their beloved Fox News, who questions ANYTHING he says or does is “the enemy.”
Trump has done more to awaken those, like myself, who rested on their privileges and the assumption that our government would always be okay. That no matter the person in office, whether they were Democrat or Republican, wouldn’t actively work to destroy the very fabric of our country.
Trump has done more to push away level headed Republicans from the GOP.
Trump has done more than Obama did to worry teachers and mothers of children with special needs.
Trump has done more to make our nation look like an embarrassment to the rest of the world.
So yeah, I think his supporters are onto something when they say he has done more than Obama ever did.
