A Money Ride with Jaywon

Aje The Mixtape is all about one thing. Money, Money, and Money, in a 10 tracks project, Jaywon took the fans on a musical journey. The first in four years.

AJE is a Yoruba word for wealth. After a lot of lukewarm release, Jaywon got it right with Aje, sadly, he got stuck with the song, released two versions of the song. It got to a point, it lost its novelty.

Riding on the wave of Aje magic, Jaywon released a mixtape a few weeks ago to mixed reviews from music critics.

The song opened with his 2018 song titled Saro. The whole concept was from a personal experience. A girl leaving you for another guy. Almost everyone can relate to this song. A minute of silence to all the guys yahoo yahoo boys once snatched their lover. The percussion was minimal, a piano, drum, and kick did the magic. You might need to watch the video for a betterer understanding of the song.

On Inside Life, Jaywon took it to the East and who else to feature but the Eastern Highlife brothers Umu Obilingo. Inside life talks about the intrigues of life, disappointment, grace, wealth, etc using the story of Emeka who went for greener pastures to buttress his point.
Umu Obilingo continued from where Jaywon stopped while delivering their verse.

After taking it to the east, the next point of call is the Arewa people. Featuring the Hausa musician Ali Jita. It's a story about a love interest. There is a heavy use of Hausa music instruments most especially goje.

On Irin Ajo Ife, Jaywon became another Rock city, asking a lot of questions which I don't think the girls would even answer. This song is tailored towards weddings, anniversaries, and another joyous occasion. DMC Ladida was on point with his verse but he came late.

When you are broke, depression set in, this was what Jaywon was telling anyone who cares to listen, something must change. The song will still be cool without an outro by the legendary Keke Ogungbe. The song is a supplication. A motivation to the depressed and broke soul.

On Ability, Jaywon was retrospective, about his growing up in Festac, getting signed to Kennis music while at the same time vowing to live long like the king of world beat, King Sunny Ade. A shut up song for haters.

One call is a dancehall tune. It's a LOVE kind of song. It features Next world newly signed artiste Save Fave with hook by Idyl. He delivered.

My family is a remake of Aje, they are in the same league. The featured artistes overwhelmed Jaywon on this song. It's all about money. Nothing more.

On Aje remix part 1, Barry Jay really showed us while he is the scion of the late Fuji exponent Ayinde Barrister, the song stopped after his verse, I still don't see the need of Lyta's verse.

Nigeria is one, to appeal to everyone, there has to be a Wazobia version of the Jaywon Smash hit featuring stars from the three regions of Nigeria, Phyno(east), Zlatan(west) and Magnito(north). Phyno went emotional on his verse, how he and his mum always cook and make ends meet while growing up, same as Zlatan and Magnito. Seems everybody has a story to tell.

On Aje The Mixtape, Jaywon he tells a well-detailed story, there were some unnecessary collaborations on the project. Project could have contained six or five tracks. The themes were overlapping.
