Building Composable Market Infrastructure: Talos
Earlier this month we outlined our goal to build the next generation of composable crypto infrastructure. So what does “building composable infrastructure” mean?
Building composable infrastructure is our movement to remove the inherent conflicts of interest that we saw in highly centralized trading stacks during the last crypto cycle, and to replace them with a vibrant ecosystem of top industry players. Through seamless integrations with prime brokers, qualified custodians, and settlement networks, we believe that we can reduce single-points-of-failure and create fair, secure, and performant trading infrastructure.
In line with our goal, we were thrilled to announce the latest addition to the Enclave ecosystem earlier this week: Talos, the premier provider of institutional digital assets trading technology.
The Integration
Talos is an industry leading trading platform that enables clients to transact directly from their Talos dashboard through integrations with trading infrastructure providers like Enclave Markets. Talos provides a growing network of services — trading platform, lending marketplace, data and analytics, portfolio and settlement tools — and now includes Enclave Cross.
Eligible Talos clients can now submit orders from their Talos dashboard directly into Enclave Cross, our confidential marketplace for large OTC orders, without signaling their intent to the market. This is the first and only crossing order available for Talos clients, enabling confidential block trades with minimal slippage and minimal market impact.
The Enclave Ecosystem
With the launch of our Talos integration, the Enclave ecosystem continues to grow. Earlier this year we became a founding partner of BitGo’s Go Network, a first-of-its-kind solution designed to enable institutions to safeguard, transact, and settle USD and digital assets across the BitGo ecosystem. A few weeks ago we announced our integration with Hidden Road, in which we decoupled trade execution from custody and settlement. Talos is the latest addition to the Enclave ecosystem and serves as another significant step on our journey to build composable infrastructure.
Each of these partnerships and integrations are crafted to uniquely address problematic single-points-of-failure from the monolithic exchange stack (price discovery, brokerage, custody, settlement). During the last crypto cycle, exchanges aimed to control the entire trading stack. The vertical expansion led to consolidated risk and resulted in unnecessary market contagion. Our composable infrastructure aims to solve this over-concentration, while providing value for the end user through increased operational and capital efficiencies, seamless UI/UX, and industry-leading security.
