Our Runifesto

Since the very start, we’ve been working with Kenyan athletes to design shoes and then making them in Kenya. When we say Run Kenyan, obviously we’re talking about getting in a pair of Enda Kenyan running shoes.

But Running Kenyan is more than just shoes: it’s a set of values and a way of life. So we codified those most important values in our running manifesto, our Runifesto, about what Enda stands for:

Our CEO, Nava, lays out our Runifesto.

1. Honesty

For decades, running shoes have been sold to runners using pseudoscience, bogus technology, and annual updates that force runners to either stock up the shoes they love or never find them again.

As a result, the process of determining which shoes you should run in is complicated, making runners feel like they need a “prescription” to determine which shoe to wear, and then needs to stock up on shoes incase they change.

Kenyan running is different. It’s all about simplicity and consistency. We want it to be easy to pick which pair of shoes to run in, and to keep your running consistent by making sure any improvements in our shoes don’t take away the shoe you love.

2. Making a Positive Impact

It matters where and how things are made. If we want running to make the world better, we need to choose products that have a positive impact on the world.

We are committed to making our products in Kenya, giving back to the runners who inspire the world. We are committed to continually improving our process to a point where we make our shoes using renewable energy while reducing waste as much as possible.

3. Twende Pamoja — let’s go together.

We all run for a reason — to lose weight, to maintain health and fitness, spend time with friends or family, to destress, to overcome challenges, to raise money, to have fun. There’s no wrong reason.

On this personal journey, we do our best not just with the help of others, but when we are helping others. Kenyan running thrives because of community. Runners come together to challenge one another to find their best selves. Our commitment to you is to help build a community, and we’d love your help in that. As an Enda runner, we ask that you find other runners and share the joy of running.

In swahili, we say “twende pajmoja”, “let’s go together”. It’s a spirit we hope every runner can bring as we build a more caring global running community.

We hope you’ll hold us accountable to these values. If you see ways that we can do more to delivery honesty, impact, and community, please do reach out and let us know.
