Energo COO Kaikai Yang Discusses Blockchain in Energy at Beijing Summit

BEIJING, China, Jun. 13, 2018 — COO of Energo Labs Kaikai Yang was invited to speak at the Digital Asset Investment Summit held in Beijing on June 12th. Hosted by FinTech4Good, an incubation, acceleration, and investment group that introduces innovative fintech and blockchain solutions to emerging markets, the event gathered industry leaders from China and abroad to facilitate dialogue about the implications of blockchain in various sectors.

Yang spoke during the Energy Blockchain Leadership Committee Roundtable session, during which she explained Energo Labs’ integration of blockchain technology in our clean energy exchange platform. Fellow contributors included Feng Gao, Assistant Dean of the Energy Internet Research Institute at Tsinghua University; Sophie Lu, Head of China Research for Bloomberg New Energy Finance; and Saifur Rahman, President of IEE Power and Energy Society 2018–19 and Director of Virginia Tech Advanced Research Institute, among others.

Later during the conference, Yang also participated in the launch ceremony for the Women Blockchain Leadership Committee. She was joined by Jun Li, Minister of the Commerce and Investment Department at World Silk Road Connections, Chairman of Huocheng Investment, and Chairman of BTC Mongolia Investment Co.; Wenjun Chen, Professor at Fudan University’s Zhangjiang Institute and CEO of Lawchain; Sophie Lu of Bloomberg New Energy Finance; and Han Han, Senior Engineer at CAICT, Director of NDRC’s National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Distribution and Exchange Technologies Research Center for Big Data Circulation Compliance.

Other topics addressed during the summit ranged from blockchain’s impact on the financial industry as well as the blockchain innovation ecosystem. Aside from Yang, prominent conference attendees included representatives from the United Nations and World Bank.

Yang’s participation in this event closely follows her appearance at a previous FinTech4Good Digital Asset Investment Forum in Washington, D.C., during which she was named the first co-chair of FinTech4Good’s Energy Blockchain Leadership Council. In addition, FinTech4Good’s CEO Xiaochen Zhang recently joined Energo Labs’ advisory board, greatly expanding Energo’s global network.
