If you’re anything like me, your honey-do list is a mile long. My wife seems to come up with various chores for me to do with no regard to my own to-do list. Being a stay-at-home dad means I get to be the primary caregiver for our 10 and 2 year-old. I also get to bear the brunt of all the household chores as well. This is not a big issue for me because I like to be crafty by making improvements to our home that make all our lives a little bit easier. Now in the past, most of my home improvements centered on technology. Our home network, entertainment system, televisions and game systems were my domain. Now I’ve gotten into a few areas that have scored me major points with my wife. Recently I read an article on how you can take old windows and create various decorative things that you can use in your home.
My latest project was a window coffee table.

The materials needed for the coffee table were
· a window which I scraped and sanded
· Plywood for the bottom of the table
· legs from an old coffee table that we had
If you aren’t the handiest person in the world, you can go to a local home improvement store and have them cut the pieces for you. I recommend every dad have a drill in his arsenal. This comes in handy when you have to hang things in your home.
This is one in a long list of project do-it-yourself projects that you can do in a day. This will have your wife jumping for joy when she makes it home from work. I don’t have a lot of time myself because my kids demand a lot of my day with their individual activities. This is just one in a long line of projects that are low-cost and are easy to get accomplished in a day or two.
