Celebrating Get Konnected! 2016

If you have not yet heard the buzz about the ingenious minority networking series, Get Konnected!, then let us give you a little background — Get Konnected! is the brainchild of Public Relations super-goddess, Colette Phillips. As a minority entrepreneur, Phillips felt motivated to challenge structure of business culture by creating a simple yet profound series of events aimed at supporting and uniting urban professionals. 2016 was the 8th anniversary of the Get Konnected! event series; and this year’s theme did not disappoint. On March 29th, urban professionals and city leaders gathered at The Edward M. Kennedy Institute to honor GK100, Boston’s 100 most Influential People of Color, as well as GK50, GK25, and Founder’s Choice honorees.
This honor is intended to showcase and celebrate Boston’s minority leaders who are making change and guiding progress across various disciplines such as; Academia, business, healthcare, and philanthropy.
Epicenter Community is proud to announce that our Executive Director, Malia Lazu was among the 25 trailblazing Bostonians presented with the GK25 Emerging Leaders Award. Through this initiative, 185 Minority leaders, activists, and catalysts for change were highlighted and appreciated for their commitment to ensuring Boston’s continued growth and success.
Congratulations to all of the 185 People of Color awarded — it is the work that you all do and your dedication to progress that is changing the perceptions of Boston’s Leadership Landscape.
