Tales & Tomes: A Night Celebrating Black Literature

Come breathe in stories, both old and new, at Tales & Tomes’ two part event. First, feel inspired as local authors and educators engage in a panel discussion on how impact Black literature has impacted their lives. Afterwards, take part in our book swap and discover some new stories over provided food and beverage.

This is a free, all ages event and is open to the public. Just bring your lovely selves and a book to trade!”

The Wellness Weekend Pop-Up Event

“Made Organics presents The Wellness Weekend Pop-up event intends to merge various elements of the wellness community and create a real time in person collaborative pop-up event, catering to like-minded individuals.

The Wellness Weekend is a fun-filled one-stop shop for handmade and local goods plus food, beverages, beauty products and more. All classes, workshops, and events will focus on healthy living, clean eating, fitness, and fashion for the whole family.

HipStory Films Premiers Vitiligo & Art Of Being Haunted

“Help us close out Black History Month as we debut these two important films expanding on trauma, related to racism and how it can affect the mental health of people of color. This is the first public screening of the “Vitiligo” short film along with “The Art of Being Haunted.”

Our hope is that, with these films, we can engage in trauma-informed conversations about, not only racism, but its many counterparts. Come enjoy the work of up and coming black film-makers, Hakim Hill & Cliff Notez, on February 27th at the Rockwell Theatre at 7:30pm, and help us push these discussions to a place that is often forgotten.

All proceeds go towards future screenings, building the infrastructure of HipStory Films, and the educational curriculum development and implementation for ‘Vitiligo’ and ‘Art of Being Haunted’”
