Shimmer Layer 1 NFTs can now migrate to Shimmer EVM. With the support of the foundation, we have developed a method for Layer 1 NFT collections to make this transition. Once on Shimmer EVM, you will be able to engage with various NFT marketplaces and, in the future, migrate to other chains using protocols like the LayerZero offering.
This document will guide you through the process of migrating supported NFT collections from Shimmer Layer 1 to Shimmer EVM.
HOW TO MIGRATE TO SHIMMER EVM
You will need to use the Shimmer Firefly wallet, DO NOT use the Bloom wallet to move NFTs using the method described below.
Shimmer Firefly Wallet
To enable this functionality, you must first have the NFTs in your Shimmer wallet and set your account to developer mode.Setting Account to Developer Mode
In the Shimmer Wallet, click the bottom left icon, then select ‘All Settings.’ Next, click on ‘Advanced’ and enable ‘Developer Mode.’
Sending an NFT to Shimmer EVM
- Select the collections icon on the left hand side
- Select an NFT and click the Send button.
- Select ShimmerEVM from the destination network dropdown
- Enter your Metamask address (starts with 0x).
NOTE: Please make sure you control this 0x address otherwise you will be giving away an NFT
Trade on Epoch Zero
- View your newly minted Shimmer EVM NFT on the Epoch Zero marketplace.
