The Scholarships of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Illinois college student Eric Baumbach is a resident of the Willowbrook/Burr Ridge area who is currently pursuing his bachelor of science in accounting and finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Rather than relaxing in Willowbrook during the summer, he has been interning with a number of regional businesses. Among his other academic and professional accomplishments, Eric Baumbach gained admittance to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in 2015.

Members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) receive benefits that range from career resources and service projects to a variety of travel and networking opportunities. The NSCS also supports numerous scholarships that are exclusively available to its membership base. Distributing more than $1 million annually, the organization awards more scholarship money than all other honor societies.

In addition to offering 26 scholarship opportunities at different times of the year, the national headquarters of the NSCS provides paid opportunities to study and intern abroad through partners such as Semester at Sea and the International Scholar Laureate Program. Many regional chapters of the NSCS also support their own scholarship program.

The NSCS offers both general scholarships that recipients can use at the college or university of their choice and institution-specific scholarships that have arisen as the result of specific academic partnerships. The NSCS-Hult Scholarship, for example, offers $5,000 to qualifying NSCS members who wish to attend the Global One-Year MBA and Masters program at the Hult International Business School.
