The Looted Orb of Atlantis…?

The crystalline orb in its most current fractured state.
The Atlantean orb in the author’s hands — Sedona, AZ 2016

“Through violent earthquakes and floods, in a single day and night of misfortune … [the whole race] … was swallowed up by the Earth and the island of Atlantis … disappeared into the depths of the sea.” — Plato.

The first writings about Atlantis come from the famous book “Dialogues” written by the Greek philosopher Plato in the fourth century BC. According to Plato, the stories of Atlantis were passed to him by his grandfather, who had heard the story about ancient Atlantis from an Athenian statesman called Solon, who learned of the existence of Atlantis from an Egyptian priest who claimed that Atlantis existed nine thousand years ago before that time (around 9600 B.C.E.)

As an archaeologist, I went to study this artifact as all people of science should do — study all the evidence, not just the evidence that fits our comfort levels. However, for the same reason I have hesitated to write this article for four years, detailing my findings/observations. I feared I would be excommunicated from the archaeological community.

Legendary Egyptologist, Flinders Petrie, who is widely considered as one of the founders of scientific archaeology, and not just in Egypt, has been quoted as saying we have an obligation to report what we find to the benefit of the rest of humanity.
