I have a similar version of this with office birthday parties.

My office is like that! What I like about it is that it breaks up the monotony of office life, and I guess I’m pretty fortunate that no one is ever on the hook for gifts (people are free to contribute as much money as they want for whomever they want.) We try to keep it economical by using stuff we already have in the office, and by not making a huge deal out of every occasion (stuff like weddings or goodbye parties for longtime employees are a big deal, but if someone already had a pretty decent birthday last year and it’s not a milestone birthday, we might keep it low-key this year.) As fun as it is, it can be really hard to navigate.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
