I’m Erick Ocean, an upcoming filmmaker and student journalist graduating June 2014 from California State University, East Bay.

I will break the marginalization that the media and televison broadcast industry has placed on the documentary film genre.

Documentary films are windows of humanity -they question, investigate and reflect. They inspire forward thinking, discourse and even action.

Through cinema and story-telling I will engage communities worldwide by exploring distinctive styles of documentaries that commemorate cultural heritage and socio-political topics of filmmakers in the Bay Area.
