Either way, 3 of the last 14 MVP’s didn’t go on to win the championship that year, and if we’re now entering the era of the superteam I bet that proportion will get even lower. Having two or more top 10 players on the same team pretty much guarantees none of them will win an MVP, but it does give them pretty good odds for a title.
