“Anyone can invest in startups with Republic” … Well, almost!

AngelList, the famous investor matchmaking portal for startups and business angels, announces a partnership with Republic.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT REPUBLIC ?
Republic is a new open investment crowdfunding platform founded by AngelList alumni and Uber investors.
The slogan of Republic is “Invest as little as $10 in the private companies shaping our future, regardless of your net worth”.
IS IT A GOOD CATCH ?
The good thing about Republic is that early-stage companies can raise up to $1 million in capital from non-accredited investors on the Web.
Likewise, anyone on the web can invest in startups, as they would do in Kickstarter.
However, with an annual salary of less than $100,000, an investor can only invest up to $2,000. If your annual income (or net worth) are more than $100,000 then you can invest up to 10% of annual income or net worth.
ANYONE, REALLY?
Well, not quite! Because, as for now, an investor must follow these rules:
> Even if you’re an international investor, the limits on investment amounts apply to you;
> Republic only accept investing via US bank accounts for now;
> Individuals can be investors, but not companies.
