What I’ve Learned About Empathy

Sharing this with my kids this morning. One of our family’s focuses this year is “Sympathizing” based on Romans 12:15 (“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”)
I also listened to a podcast from Art of Manliness earlier this week. It was on the “Death of Idealism.” They made the comment that true compassion is not seeing someone walking in the cold (for example) and feeling sad for him. True compassion is seeing that person and thinking, “That is ME.”
