If you’d told me years ago that I would be involved in an affair with a married woman, I would have laughed in your face.

I always thought that’s something I’d never be involved in. I grew up in a family of devout Catholics. I went to church every Sunday and attended catholic catechism classes every Saturday for as long as I could remember.

You could say I had a solid moral grounding from childhood. And as any Christian would know, it was ingrained in me that adultery was one of the worst sins anyone could ever commit.

The affair…

Understanding the ‘unwritten rules’ of workplace culture

On my first day at a small corporate firm, I arrived bright and early. I rang my manager to come down and let me in through the secure employee-only front revolving doors.

He came down and whisked me away to complete an orientation. I was introduced to everyone in the office. I got the tour of the workplace, after which he showed me my desk — my computer was nicely set up, and my new shiny name tag was neatly placed in the corner. I was all set.

For the next six months, I was paired up with a “buddy”…

Some women wonder why they can’t find love. Each time they try and get close to a guy, he runs 100 miles per hour in the opposite direction.

Men usually cut off all contact and avoid them like they were a Leper after the first date or in the early stages of a relationship.

Men have seen enough, and they’ve decided they’d rather cut a stranger’s toenails than waste any more of their precious time with them.

If their love life was a person, you would declare them “dead” to society, arrange a funeral service and have the relatives claim…

Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it — Michael Jordan, Team USA Olympic Gold Medalist 1984, six-time NBA champion.

Taking part in the Olympic Games is every athlete’s dream —it’s an event of great prestige and honour. Athletes only get one chance every four years to qualify and compete at the Olympics. Most elite athletes dedicate long years of their lives to compete at the very highest level against other word-class athletes.

If you’re struggling to…

When Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle, he made royal history by marrying a woman with a biracial heritage, born to a black mother and a white father.

Despite the joyous occasion, the couple has endured public racial undertones from newspaper and TV opinion pieces, as well as outright racism from social media trolls. Even before they got married, Meghan Markle and her family were subjected to unprecedented abuse and harassment, prompting Kensington Palace to issue a statement asking the British media to back off.

Prince Harry and Meghan represent the younger millennial generation who are more open-minded about…

#4 Treating the date like an interview

I ‘ve screwed up more first dates than I can remember, back when I didn’t have a clue about women.

The whole first date thing was such a big deal to me — I was always anxious about messing it up. Not every date was a complete success, otherwise, I wouldn’t have learnt anything about the dating game. I always tried to learn from unsuccessful dates so that I could be better for the next one.

If I was lucky, I would get some specific feedback on why she didn’t want to go…

Your dead-end job is bad for you in many ways, so don’t put up with it.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” — Confucius

I called my boss for a meeting on a Monday morning in one of the client meeting rooms at the Bank. I had a white envelope in my hand, enclosed was my resignation letter I had prepared the night before. “So, what’s this about? Can we make it quick, we have a sales meeting in 30 minutes”, my boss said.

I slowly pushed the envelope in front of him, and before he could open it, I blurted it out, “I quit!”…

Stop getting in your own way of finding love.

You got dumped again. Everything seemed to be going well in your relationship until your partner drifted and disappeared. This always seems to happen to you.

In your mind, It’s always the other person’s fault that the relationship ended.

You tell yourself, “I’m a good person, I don’t understand why my relationships never work.

Does this sound familiar?

Maybe you’re the problem. Have you ever considered that?

If you’ve had a few failed relationships, you can put it down to incompatibility but if you’ve been dumped many times, there are other deeper issues at play.

It might be time to…

You can still enjoy being with someone who’s not the love of your life

If you’re hanging around waiting to find the love of your life, don’t. Seriously. I mean it.

The notion of “settling” gets such a bad rap and the idea that it can lead to a happy, loving, fulfilling and stable relationship is not very popular. To most people, settling sounds un-romantic. I bet you’re uncomfortable that I’m speaking about it in a positive light. But before you pass judgment, I want you to have an open mind and put everything you know about finding that one…

Does she like me?

That’s the question every man pursuing a woman wants to know. We’ve all been there before — you meet a nice, beautiful woman, go on a date and after the end of the date, you’re not quite sure whether she’s into you or not. Sometimes it’s difficult to decipher a woman’s behaviours especially if she’s giving you “mixed” signals. Most women won’t outright reject you; they’ll be polite and let you down gently. …
