Blue Protocol June 22, 2018 Community Update

At Blue we’ve been working for quite some time on bringing security and convenience to the blockchain by building security tools for developers. Today we want to talk about one effort we’ve focused on: building out tools to make interacting with smart contracts easier and safer, through the use of our Blue Wallet and it’s accompanying SDK. We are extremely proud to release the first public beta of the Blue Wallet with support for Dapps, decentralized applications.

When you interact with a Dapp such as IDEX, the review screen helps clearly identify exactly what is happening in your transaction. In the screenshot below you can see that the approve method is being used to send 200 BLUE, approving your transfer along with a helpful USD estimate of the total amount of value being transferred. The logo confirms you are dealing with the smart contract you expect, protecting you from phishing. With these simple UI enhancements, we help confirm what your transaction will send, and who it will send it to. Simple.

Reviewing an IDEX deposit

Today we have opened access to all Dapps on the web for Beta feedback. We have done our own testing with some of our favorites such as IDEX, ForkDelta, PepeDapp, Ether Goo, and The Token Store. But we want to hear from you. Use the Feedback tab in the wallet menu to report any issues or feature requests you have.
