I see where you’re coming from, and can agree to an extent.
But I disagree with the root of your issue.
In my opinion, cultural appropriation is a problem because the privileged take the culture of someone else and make a mockery of it. From meaningless headresses to thrown together sugar skulls, cultural appropriation washes out the cultural significance.
I also believe that the problem with white people wearing dreadlocks is 1) because their hair gets moldy when they do it and 2) because they value black culture over black people.
Neither of us are inherently wrong, I just disagree with your interpretation of appropriation.
