I couldn’t agree more – it’s dangerous to oversimplify demand, and not my intention to do so. Print journalism, or even an online version of it, will always survive in some shape or form. Profound analysis of political issues is absolutely crucial too, and all my respects go out to the journalists who serve this need. What I do believe, however, is that legacy media resources – those who now produce that profound analysis – need to very quickly find new ways to disseminate the agenda they are pursuing. Imagine if those reliable news sources did jump on the new format bandwagon in addition to what they already do: they can probably win the game! With trust and reliability built into their DNA, all it takes is content diversification.
