Yup, That Was A Great Idea: Pokemon Go

There is so many great ideas out there in the world. Ideas from medicines, to mechanical inventions, to political/social ideas, to smartphone apps.

Pokemon Go (one of those ideas) has spread like wildfire. Seriously if you haven’t seen someone playing the game on their phone just go out to a park or other public place for a while. You will see them with phone and friends in tow, trust me because I've been one of those players.

Really the app does a sweet job of blending modern technology of augmented reality and a classic video game idea. Pokemon hasn’t really been in the spotlight recently, with many other less entertaining issues for people to deal with in life. However Pokemon Go has taken a front and center role now, with plenty of people bonding over the hunt for Pikachu’s and other Pokemon.

I mean my whole family is literally out of the house right now hunting for Pokemon.

I must have missed the call for hoping in the car and going on the multi-generational Pokemon trainer safari hunt. But its given me some quiet time to reflect on the idea of Pokemon in general.

It’s a decades old idea that is continuing to resurface itself when coming into contact with the newest technology. That’s amazing because when you step back and ponder that statement it may take a while to think of similar ideas that have the same effect.

Now I as I sit in my basement I’m wondering what new idea will bring so much joy to people, and that will keep up with modern technology.
