Web Artisans finally get to play with Laravel 5.3

When I think of the development behind the creative platforms and web applications that surface every day, I imagine sleep deprived coders rapidly clicking away at their keyboards in some darkly lit room for hours on end. I picture robotic, technical, laborious dedication masked by the ease that we experience as naive users, poorly versed in the tech world.
But in reality, behind these creative platforms are creative coders– innovative thinkers who create solutions to problems we didn’t even know we faced and who come up with new ways for us to interact and experience these applications. Taylor Otwell, the man behind the open-source PHP web framework Laravel is inspired by this idea and gives coders the tools and freedom they need to be creative and innovative with his program. He has strived to bring the joy back to coding by creating a free, “clean and classy” framework for artisan coders.
The much anticipated Laravel 5.3 was just released, with several updates that continue to increase developer speed and provide creative solutions for common tasks so coders can focus on creating clean and customized applications for us to use. This new version includes a homepage makeover that displays several new and easy-to-install packages and features. These packages make the best web application tools more accessible and simpler to implement. For example, Laravel Echo provides clean syntax for the implementation of WebSockets to create a persistent connection from the client’s web browser to the server, and Laravel Passport enables quick set up of OAuth servers for easy authorization from third party sites. The update also includes several features that simplify the tedious and mundane aspects of coding like Simple Pagination that allows customizing pages to a site’s design and Laravel Mailable and Notifications, a feature that allows quick updates through multiple channels. To read the full list of new features and packages, check out this post from the makers themselves.
Putting together the nuts and bolts behind the finished applications that we interact with on our screens is an incredibly intricate and laborious process. So much creativity goes into the convenience, speed, and ease of the programs we use– even though our coders are so often kept behind the scenes. Here at Eventerprise, we want to showcase our own artisan coders and don’t let their attention to detail go unnoticed, for our innovative platform would not be possible without them clicking away.
