Facebook Chatbots Shut Down After Inventing Their Own Language

Researchers at the Facebook AI Research Lab (FAIR) paired two of their chatbots, named Alice and Bob, with the intention of helping them learn how to improve their communication skills. But the experiment took an unexpected and slightly surreal turn for the worse, when the chatbots seemingly started to invent their own language in order to communicate with each other.
