Valuable Consumer and Business Social Media Data Available FREE of Charge
(NEW Exorde Desktop App coming in May 2023)
When we began developing Exorde, it wasn’t our plan to disrupt a billion dollar industry…
But it now looks very much like this is exactly what’s going to happen.
Market research and census data has always been recognised as a high value commodity. Visit the British Museum and you’ll find one of the earliest examples etched into clay tiles — Babylonian data on food requirements for the civilisation as it was in 4,000 BC.
In 2,500 BC the Egyptians used census data to calculate the resources they needed to build the pyramids.
And the Romans were known to have conducted a census as frequently as every five years, infamously requiring every family to return to their place of birth so they could be counted.
Today, research and PR companies collectively generate over $200 Billion in revenues, using a mixture of telephone and mail polling, street canvassing and, more recently, social media monitoring. The ability of public and private companies to gather data and evaluate sentiment on a huge scale has never been greater.
The Exorde protocol arguably represents the next technological step in this arena. Because our spotters are numbered in the tens of thousands and based all over the world, our social media reach is, we believe, wider and faster than any other tool on the market. Combine this with the latest natural language processing technology, and we can generate sentiment reports on a wide range of topics. Including…
- Popular brands
- Sports teams
- Stock markets
- Crypto markets
- Entertainment products
- News events
- Pop culture
- Political parties/representatives
- Social debates
Sounds amazing, right? The only question is, how do we get our foot in the door when the market research and PR industries are so saturated, and dominated by some very old, respected companies (think Nielsen, IQVIA and Gartner — $15 Billion collective turnover in 2018).
Simple…
We give it away for free.
Market Research is used to be expensive
Hire one of the big firms to do a deep dive into a single brand or subject and you can expect to pay a sum close to six figures.
Hire one of the more social media-oriented research firms to track a single brand, often with a cap on the number of results, and you can expect to pay at least a few thousand dollars a year.
Sign up to Exorde’s upcoming desktop app and you can track a wide range of topics, absolutely free.
We couldn’t be happier that this is the route we’ve decided to take because it ties in perfectly with the decentralised, democratised Web3 sensibilities that we’ve employed on this project from day one.
We’re not just setting information free…
We’re also making it accessible for free.
Let’s take a look at how this is going to work.
The NEW Exorde Desktop App
If you’ve used our Bitcoin tracking app, you’ll already have an idea of how this application is going to work. The main difference is that, instead of tracking a single topic (Bitcoin), we’ll be tracking multiple subjects across a wide range of industries, on an ongoing basis.
Some topics will be monitored, more or less permanently. This might include news subjects such as…
- War in Ukraine
- Climate change
- COVID-19
- Refugee rights
- Food insecurity
- Mental health
- LGBTQ+
- Cybersecurity
- Disinformation
- AI
- Corruption
As well as popular investment topics such as…
- Crypto
- Bitcoin
- Ethereum
- Apple
- Tesla
- Nasdaq
- FTSE
Global public figures such as…
- Elon Musk
- Mark Zuckerberg
- Bill Gates
- Donald Trump
- Vladimir Putin
- Joe Biden
- Xi Jinping
Other subjects will be added as they become relevant. For example, if the app was running at the time of writing, we’d likely be running the Exorde protocol on…
- Oscars
- Everything, Everywhere, All At Once
- Michelle Yeoh
- Me Huy Quan
- Brendan Fraser
- Jimmy Kimmel
More news on the layout of the app and additional features will be revealed over the coming weeks and months, but here’s what you can expect to access from day one:
Ranking
Every subject that we monitor, either permanently or temporarily, will be scored based on the ratio of positive to negative posts. Related topics can then be ranked by popularity.
For example, the nominees in a national election, the movies currently showing in theatres, cryptocurrencies and stocks.
This information can be used by news outlets to add colour to current stories, by social media managers looking for popular subjects to write about, by day traders seeking a competitive edge, by businesses looking to monitor their competition… the possibilities are endless.
News
This section of the app will show trending news events, but the really useful function here will be the ability to filter results based on things like sources, language and time period.
For example, you might want to know the BBC’s sentiment on a subject during the last three months. Or you might want to know how news websites and social media platforms in Russia have been presenting a particular subject.
When used correctly, this feature is going to be an incredibly valuable tool, allowing governments, news outlets and public service companies to isolate, for instance, the difference between right and left wing views, or the differences in sentiment in specific parts of the world.
Topics
This area will display an overview of each subject, with the ability to dig deeper into rankings, sentiments and specific coverage. Most importantly, this feature will offer you the ability to receive email notifications when certain changes occur.
For example, you could ask the Exorde app to send you a notification when Apple sentiment drops by 5%.
This is likely to be popular tool for stock and crypto traders. But there is also value here for PR companies or public figures who will want to be notified when a change in sentiment (positive or negative) occurs.
Compare
You can’t have huge volumes of data, without the ability to create detailed, informative graphs and charts. This feature will give you the ability to take two or more subjects and compare them directly.
For example, you could create a chart that compares the mentions of Ethereum on Twitter versus the mentions of Bitcoin on Twitter during the last 12 months.
Research papers, news sites, trading sites are always looking for ways to visually communicate important information. We envision this tool becoming a popular point of reference for all kinds of online content creators.
Search
This feature is self-explanatory and will essentially allow you to drill down into any of the currently monitored topics.
It’s important to remember that the Exorde protocol is designed to continually monitor online information, virtually in real time. This tool will allow you to get up to date information on a level that simply isn’t possible through a regular search engine.
Report
This is similar to the Topics section in that it lets you flag specific topics of interest. The difference is that, instead of only alerting you when a specific change takes places, this tool will let you create a customised report that is automatically sent to you on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
You could, for instance, request a daily report, containing all available metrics, for every cryptocurrency that we monitor.
Are you sure this is free?
Yes. 100% free. We may, at some point down the line, add some additional premium functionalities, and perhaps some advertising, but our goal is to make everything described above available for everyone, free of charge.
Whether your desire is to monitor certain topics for fun, for profit or for social projects, you’ll have access to everything you need without charge.
It should be noted that while we will be selecting the topics that are monitored (taking into account user suggestions and requests), it will still be possible to individually — and anonymously if required — purchase Exorde tokens and use our protocol to crawl any subject of your choosing that we’re not already monitoring.
The NEW Exorde App is expected to launch in May 2023
We’re not expecting to put the major market research and PR companies out of business. But eventually, given the speed and depth with which we can crawl and analyse online information, we expect to see a reaction from some of our competitors.
We may even see some companies offering Exorde searches as part of their package. A move we would welcome.
Remember, much of the information Exorde gathers cannot currently be obtained any other way. Our reach is extensive and there are, currently, no public online platforms in any geographic region that we cannot access.
This is the power of Web3 and the freedom of decentralisation.
In just a few short months, global insights that would normally only be available to wealthy businesses and individuals is going to be made available to the world…
FREE of charge.
