INSIDE EZETAP: A World Of Payments
Sanat Chandran
As menial a task as it may seem, picking out the right theme for the names of a company’s conference rooms is often deceitfully difficult. Conference rooms are where the magic happens; where vital information is communicated and innovative solutions are ideated. With that in mind, ‘Conference Room 1’ is hardly an inspirational name, to say the least, and also fails to exploit the opportunity to contribute to company culture. What every company needs is an environment that fosters creativity and makes employees feel like they are a part of something much bigger.
At Ezetap, that ‘something’ is to take India to the forefront of global economies by increasing efficiency through smart payment solutions. We are truly a company made in India, to global standards; a trait we pride ourselves on. After much deliberation, it seemed illogical to base our conference rooms on any concept besides this. As a company, we want our pioneering efforts made within India, to resonate across the globe. Therefore, our conference rooms at our headquarters in Bangalore, India, feature the names of the most prominent countries and cities from around the world, along with an image of their most notable landmarks and a caption relating to the payments industry.
On an ordinary day, we might stop by the Big Ben in London to discuss our ‘round-the-clock payment solutions.’ But when we are feeling especially innovative, we make our way to Las Vegas to brainstorm ‘game changing payment solutions’, and if we are struggling with an issue, our employees head to Rio de Janeiro, where an image of “Christ The Redeemer” offers ‘redemption from payment woes.’ You get the idea.
The premise of this concept had two distinct motives: to create a trend that was exclusively comprehensible to our employees, thereby cultivating a greater degree of camaraderie, and also to simply add an element of fun to an office that was initially quite dull and uninspiring. If our conference rooms from around the world are anything to go by, the littlest of additions to company culture can go a long way towards inspiring a more exciting and energetic office space.
