Cat stuck in peanut butter jar gives birth to kittens, dies

A stray cat found earlier this week with its head stuck in a peanut butter jar has been euthanized, but not before giving birth to a litter of kittens.

The cat, named Skippy by the San Jacinto shelter, gave birth Tuesday to four kittens: Peanut, Butter, Jelly and Honey.

Shelter workers discovered that Skippy was infested with maggots, had spots of dead tissue and was malnourished and dehydrated.

First, I cut out a couple of extraneous sentences that repeated that Skippy the cat had been euthanized. For some reason, they made a lot of references to it in the first two paragraphs. I also cut the first paragraph into 2, since it seemed like it was only expanding on what came before, and could be split. I also changed ‘San Jacinto shelter workers’ to ‘the San Jacinto shelter’, because it’s shorter.
