[Insight] The French win ‘right to disconnect’
January 11, 2017
Always-on, always-down! The famous — sometimes despite it — Myriam El Khomri’s law made burnouts one of its primary focus. The French Ministry of Labor formalized a “right to disconnect” that from now on, allows workers to disconnect from office emails after working hours.
The implementation of the law is still blurry. The law requires companies with 50 or more employees to negotiate new out-of-office email guidelines. Yet, it’s a major step in a country where nearly 3 millions people are on the verge on a burnout.
