FINX Wallet Extension — User Guide
FINX is one of the new browser extensions that serves as a way of storing your FINX token and tokens from all chains. The extension is free and secure, and it allows web applications to read and interact with all dApps.
Step 1. Install FINX Wallet on your browser.
To create a new wallet you have to install the extension first. Depending on your browser, there are different marketplaces to find it. Most browsers have FINX on their stores, so it’s not that hard to see it, but either way, they are mainly used on Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Opera.

In this tutorial, we will be using Chrome as an example but the same steps apply to different browsers as well. If, for some reason, the links above don’t work for you, just search FINX Extension on your favorite search engine, and you can find it there.
- Click on the Chrome link above.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Click Add to approve extension download permission.
And it’s as easy as that to install the extension on your browser, now continue reading the next step to figure out how to create an account.
Step 2. Create an account.
- A new window will pop out, OR you can click on the extension icon in the upper right corner to open FINX.
- Click Get Started.
- Click Create a Wallet if this is your first time using FINX extension.
- Click I Agree to accept the Terms of Use.
- You will be prompted to create a new password. Write your password, tick the box & Click Create.
- Proceed by clicking Next and prepare a pen and paper.
Click Reveal Secret Words. There you will see a 12 words seed phrase. This is really important and usually not a good idea to store digitally, so take your time and write it down.
- Verify your secret phrase by selecting the previously generated phrase in order. Click Confirm.
And that’s it now you have created your FINX account successfully. A new crypto wallet address has just been created for you. It’s waiting for you to deposit funds, and if you want to learn how to do that, look at the next step below.
Step 3. Depositing funds.
- Click on View Account.
- You can now see your public address and share it with other people. There are some methods to buy coins offered by FINX, but you can do it differently as well, you just need your address.
The FINX extension will always be available in your browser’s toolbar, ready for you to continue the journey into the Crypto world. It’s easily accessible, and as you saw from these steps, simple to use as well. Sending coins is also very intuitive; there’s a big send button, and the rest are easily understandable. But in case something wrong happens and you need to restore your account, you have this option. First, you have to back it up, and let’s look at how we can do that.
How to backup and restore your wallet using the seed phrase?
Suppose you change browser or computer and want to connect your wallet again, here’s how to do it. First, you have to find your seed phrase, which you should have stored, to begin with.
Note: If you have already written down your Recovery Phrase earlier, then you can skip this step.
- Click on the account icon.
- Click Settings.
- Click on Security & Privacy and find Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase
- Enter your password.
Now save the Secret Seed Phrase somewhere, preferably not digitally. The backup is done now all you have to do is to learn the restoring process.
Restoring
Let’s say that you are on a new browser and would like to import this current account, you can do it by choosing Import Wallet
- Open FINX and click Import Wallet using the account seed phrase.
- Enter your Seed Phrase.
- Create a new strong password.
- Click Import.
And that’s it now you have successfully restored your account by following these easy steps. You are now fully prepared now to take on the crypto world as far as your wallet management is concerned.
How to get your Private Key?
While a Secret Recovery Phrase is used to back up your entire MetaMask Wallet, including all accounts created in that wallet, each account has its own private key. This key can be used to import that account, and that account only, into a different wallet.
To get your account Private Key, follow the steps below:
- Click on your profile dots
- Click on Account Details
- Click on Export Private Key
- Type your password in and you will get your Private Keys!
Warning: Never disclose this key. Anyone with your private keys can steal any assets held in your account! Remember to keep this private to yourself only.
How to switch chains within FINX wallet?
In case you dont know, FINX wallet is a tool that allows you to manage your wallets and use them to interact with dapps from different ecosystem, such as ETH to BSC, Polygon etc all in one platform.
At the bottom of the aforementioned list with networks, you will see the button “Add Network”. This will allow you to do exactly what it says, add support for another network to your installation of FINX. However, FINX only supports networks that are Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible. Bitcoin is not an option. Thankfully the list of EVM compatible networks is increasing, and you will see that FINX future ecosystem supports plenty of those.
Here are the steps to add new network into FINX wallet extension:
- Click “Add Network”
- A form will pop-up, requesting some information from you
- Network Name — you can choose any name, but be wise and just give it the name of the network you’re about to add.
- New RPC URL — an URL that serves as your entry point to the blockchain
- Chain ID — an ID number unique to the blockchain network you’re about to interact with
- Currency Symbol (optional) — the ticker (i.e. ETH, BNB or MATIC) of the leading currency on the new network
- Block Explorer URL (optional) — the URL to a block explorer, ideal for users who always want more in-depth information on their transactions.
3. After filling in all the details, click “Save”. You will now find the newly added network in your network selection.
