Well said. One suggestion to add, from an experience decades ago:

Overestimate the ability to drive defects to zero by simply focusing the engineering team on a push to do so. (Team not empowered to refactor, replace, or address the architectural root causes of the common classes of defects. In this particular case, at least one defect was introduced for each one closed.)
