Setting
Write about a setting / environment based on the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen.
A warm breeze slowly brushes through the grass. The sky blue. Clear. Wisps of cloud only seen in the far distance. The pixels forming a believable reality. Trees creating patchy shadows. A giant flat plain. Empty of life. An almost screeching silence. Tearing at ones ears as the world slowly falls away. You cling to the ropes of light the pearly sun throws down to you. But still you fall.
You open your eyes there is no light only an empty shadow. It makes you aware of your loneliness. You quickly press your eyes closed. The dark falls away. You fly up. The breeze brushes your bangs from your face. You smile as the warmth unwinds you. An amber leaf falls down to your forehead. You open your eyes and look up at the tree. “Oh,” you think… “Its autumn this time.” You close your eyes again.
When you open your eyes again the sky is an inky black bleeding down the sides of your world. Its still warm but the freedom of the stars makes you shiver. You roll down the hill and sprint to the nearest shelter. A dilapidated turret. Being eaten by moss. You hide under the crumbling rock. You hide from the depression of the universe.
You awake in a field. Its cold. Beautiful. Ebony branches fly above the snow. The wind brushes tendrils of smoke from somewhere in the distance. You assume it comes from real life. You roll over away from the smoke. You are free.
