The Faceless Many: How It All Started
It started months ago — long before we put that epic video (^) together.
The Faceless Crypto mission statement from the very beginning was “To lead the financial revolution and empower the faceless many.” And months after the creation of the community on Discord, it had already become a place where people were excited to hang out and learn and talk crypto.
But we wanted more. The leaders of the community (Faceless Core) and I wanted to create an actual mechanism to build wealth for all of us. After all, life changing wealth could certainly empower the community. However, we wanted to maintain the culture of our community and not just become another pump and dump group. We wanted to create something that would last, something that could tie into a much larger ecosystem with far more players and far more utility.
Not long after we’d begun having our weekly strategy meetings, I finally found the answer I was looking for. Previously I had sent an @everyone message in the Faceless Crypto Discord asking if anyone had any artistic skills who could help me out with making an NFT series. A humble Qstom (Carlos Nieto) offered to try:

I was blown away.
He completely captured what I was looking for. Here I saw a faceless hero wielding a sword to rend the earth in two, Bitcoin and crypto on one side — fiat currency on the other. It was equal parts medieval and sci-fi, and I knew we had something here.
So we started to plan. We had Carlos come up with more and more pieces with each being more epic than the last. We started to evaluate different blockchains and services and developers for our launch. Ultimately we made the strategic decision to launch on Elrond since their platform was set to go live by December 2021, which worked perfectly with our timeline. (Not to mention, I’d been called “The Elrond Guy” on TikTok for several months by this point.) Then we brought life to it with a name that was right in front of us all along: The Faceless Many. After that we defined things like total quantity, utility and holder benefits, price, and how to gamify the entire process.
Early on in our process we developed elements that would set us apart from the myriad other cookie-cutter NFT projects out there. For instance, we wanted NFT characters with unique body shapes and poses. So, you could theoretically mint a Faceless Many NFT with all the same exact attributes as someone else, yet they could look entirely different and unique based on their pose. Too often a new NFT launch will consist of 10,000 [insert animal here] JPEGs with the same forward-facing base that never changes. We wanted all of our NFTs to feel unique, no matter what.
We also wanted a utility-driven NFT where holders would be incentivized to hold long term. This means that we’re not advertising these as the next cute profile pic project. On the contrary, the Faceless Many NFTs are your entry ticket(s) into the Faceless Crypto ecosystem, whereby holding the NFT gets you into the club.
And club members get rewarded.

As we loom closer to #TheRivening, where we’ll split the earth and make our NFTs available for public sale, there will be many more details to come on just how our NFT holders can benefit from being one of the Faceless Many. We’ll talk about revPoints, which you’ll start accruing from day 1 of purchasing the NFT as well as what we’re building Faceless Crypto to be.
Our prime directive has always been helping to create life-changing opportunities in the crypto space. We look after and empower our own.
