I recently traveled from the Bay Area down to the city of angels to conduct an interview with Asha Holland aka DJ OSH KOSH. Osh is from Cleveland, OH and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. She is the official DJ for the upcoming hip hop group “TWO-9". We had a chance to sit down and vibe. I was able to get some quick questions answered and I was quite impressed with her hospitality, her style and definitely her grind.

1. Why the name DJ OSH KOSH?

“My mama gave it to me, my real name is Asha so family and friends would call me osh or osh kosh and so I said fuck it that’s a cool name and just rolled with it”.

2. Where’d you grow up?

“In Ohio, back and forth from Columbus and Cleveland. I did all my bad shit in Cleveland with my cousins. I smoked weed, got drunk, got in a fight for the first time in Cleveland. Then I moved to Atlanta and then New York and then back to the A and now I’m out here (Los Angeles,Ca)”.

3.Who’d you first link up with in Two-9?

“I first met Curt (Curtis Williams) and then this girl I was DJing with Cya we went to this function and then i met Key! and everybody else”.

4. Who are you the closest to in Two-9?

“It’s like in time periods, right now though I would say Dave….. Key! Has randomly been in my life so I would also say him as well”.

5.Key! used to be in Two-9, Correct?

“You can’t leave. It’s like trying to leave a gang, you just can’t leave. He was just doing his own thing but everybody was still making music but just doing their own thing”.

6. When did you first smoke Cannabis?

“ When I was eleven. I had older cousins they let me smoke with them because if you didn’t know me then you would think I was older than what I really was so I got away with smoking with them”.

7. Indica or Sativa? And why?

“We talk about this all the time. I like Sativa because I’m sleepy all the time but if I want to sleep good and want to just chill I’m gonna take the purps. I’m trying to function through out the day though so I always mainly go with Sativa”.

8. What’s your favorite munchie food?

“Cereal, pop tarts, any type of cookie, and cake. One time I bought a whole cake I had the munchies so bad. I also eat grilled cheeses with sirracha”.

9. Do you have a favorite strain?

“Nah I don’t have a favorite strain but wiz got the good weed.. I’ve smoked the KK and it’s good”.

10. Rank from your favorite to least favorite. Mac Dre, E-40 and Too Short.

“I would say E-40, Too Short, Mac Dre. Salute Mac Dre though! They all go hard though”.
