Generally speaking, and for our purposes here, we view “summer” as May through August. THE LOBSTER opened in the US in May which is why I included it in this end of summer review… which I guess makes me my own colleague? I’m not sure how that plays into my integrity though.

I do agree that in can be tough sometimes in figuring out when to place foreign titles in recaps — it plays havoc with our year-end lists sometimes. Our focus with this piece is on releases in the US though, so dates from other countries or festival screenings don’t play a role.
