The counter point is, there will remain jobs that have to be done by humans. And not by any random human, but some set of specific humans, that set different for each such job. Difficult jobs, that will require a lot of talent, skill, ability, grit, and training.

So, how will you get those humans to do those jobs? They are not going to do it for a Basic Citizens Income and a pat on the back. They certainly are not going to do it for a BCI plus a 85% tax on their additional salary plus the jeers sneers and spit of all the people who I see now agitating for a BCI. They certainly are not going to bust their ass just to fund the BCI for everyone else to “human flourishing” (read “sit around, eat, watch video, and play video games” here).

So, when someone can give me a good answer to that question, I will come around. But until then, nobody has.
