Thanks for sharing this Joel! I’ve only tried short travel and the longest I stayed in one place was 1 month. :( This makes total sense and I agree 100% that it has never seemed long enough. At the moment I’m considering a 9 month fellowship for 2016 in which I’d be traveling to 3 countries (3 months in each place) for a digital storytelling project. I feel much better after reading your thoughts on 3 months being a good minimum time to stay in one place.

I also read another nomad mention that he opts to take long train rides when possible in lieu of planes so that he has a longer stretch of time dedicated to working productively on something. Very interesting to get all this insight before embarking on my own nomadic travels. I feel like I will be much better prepared with what to expect than I was before. Thank you. :)
