NBA 2/9 Daily Quick Picks

Each night there is an NBA slate, I will be highlighting the news of the day and what you need to pay attention to. I will breakdown how injuries will affect production, and if there are any lineup changes. I will then go into each position and help you attack this slate with all the information you need.

Highlighted Plays

Stephen Curry — Warriors — $10,500

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors will be taking on James Harden and the Houston Rockets tonight. If I am paying up for one player tonight, you can bet it will be Stephen Curry. I expect a few people to fade Curry due to the mirage that Patrick Beverley is still an elite defender. I look for Curry to play around 38 minutes and shoot the ball 18–20 times. I do not foresee a blowout in this game with a healthy Rockets team. Curry has a great floor around 45 fantasy points and a ceiling over 75. Lock him into your cash games and tournaments.

Kristaps Porzingis — Knicks — $6,600

Kristaps Porzingis looks like his is getting his groove back and has over 40 fantasy points in 2 straight games. I find it very hard to believe that Jared Dudley will be able to cover him at all. Porzingis is 8 inches taller and is also much stronger down low and on the block. I expect Porzingis to get involved early and often on offense and will be effective doing so. Porzingis is a near lock for a double double and also has a ceiling over 60 fantasy points. I prefer Porzingis in tournaments due to his high volatility with minutes and shots.

Hassan Whiteside — Heat — $7,300

Hassan Whiteside is a 100% tournament play ONLY. Whiteside is going to play around 25 minutes and has shown his upside in only 27 minutes against Charlotte. Whiteside recorded a triple double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks. I do see a scenario where Whiteside gets around 33 minutes if the game stays close. Whiteside has a huge length advantage over both Tim Duncan and LaMarcus Aldridge. Whiteside has over 50 point upside in this game but also has a 10 point floor if he aggravates his injury or gets into foul trouble.

Michael Carter-Williams — Bucks — $6,000

Carter-Williams is going to have a huge height advantage over Isaiah Thomas and will also have a speed advantage over Evan Turner. MCW is going to get over 15 shots and will also get a combined 15 rebounds and assists combined. Carter-Williams is a great tournament and cash game play due to his great match-up and a tough slate.
