Side hustles in Sep 22
This month has been a whole lot of experimenting.
Having ideas is one thing and taking action is another. And this month, I took action on two ideas — flipping and baking sugar cookies.
Somehow I was hooked on watching Youtube videos that were on restoration. I like the idea of bringing back life to items around us and even better, when I could get a good flip. I took action on this immediately when I saw that someone who was moving out and he has listed his oven and chair, for FREE on the local craigslist. I saw this as an opportunity when I did a bit of a research on the items and they were a premium oven and a premium chair. Long story short, the items that the person gave me became 2 chairs instead — one office chair and one solid modern chair. Both did not require any restoration but I did not intend to sell the modern chair. What I did want was to list the office chair. The retail price for it was 1300 USD and I decided to list it at 300 USD. Within a few days, a potential buyer messaged and he was keen enough to drop by my place within the hour for a quick deal. I was on cloud nine because I knew this flip does not come often. However, I was brought back to reality when the next day, the buyer told me that there was a missing knob and not having the knob is dangerous to anyone sitting on this chair. He had even called the supplier and said that the knob will only arrive…
