Acknowledging that plenty of couples meet at work, I’d say this: avoid doing anything that will make your coworker uncomfortable to be around you—like telling them that you keep a picture of them on your refrigerator at home.
I agree! Especially interesting with the rise of solo-entrepreneurs and freelance work is how difficult it is to know what to do WITHOUT an HR department. It is easy to target contractors as they have no protections.
