Guess who’s coming to dinner…

Day 419 — A weight loss quest it gets “complicated” once someone knows you’re on a “diet.” People start watching what you eat. Which is weird, since isn’t that YOUR responsibility? We all judge each other at some level. No one is immune. When I was at my heaviest, I overheard, or could clearly see the distain and disgust when I ate in certain circles and circumstances.

It’s human nature. I get it. So what do you do to stay on track if you’re on a diet and you’re a guest at a dinner party? Eat what is served? Or bring your own food?

Well…you make sure you stick with people who are kind enough to make sure you have options that are on your program. That happened to me tonight. And it was thoughtful and lovely. The hostess was guiding me to the buffet and made sure I knew exactly what was “roasted” “without sauce” and any other key points that might be helpful for me to navigate my choices.

The choices were simple because there were very few items off my program. But her gentle guidance was such a nice “reminder” without making me feel uncomfortable.

Something worth noting if you have someone like me in your life and you’re faced with a “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner” shituation. #PIA, #grateful
