Losing Weight With #God!

Day 267 — Steps today? 17,962. Miles? 8.31. Only God knows how I did it today! (I crack myself up.) In fact, when I walked around a lake this morning I passed this church with both these signs in front and stopped to laugh out loud. I probably looked like that “Chewbaca Mask” woman laughing her head off on YouTube. Except I snorted. And moms with strollers went out of their way to avoid me on the sidewalk as I tried to get anyone to agree with me on the irony.

Seriously though. There was a time when the thought of walking 1 mile was a very daunting task. And I thank God I achieved today’s milestone effortlessly. Perhaps because I was so distracted trying to get the most out of my day with our son before we leave him here at school. Another reason might be because I was shopping with him. And that was SO MUCH FUN! (…well, for me.)

I caught the not so subtle glances between my husband and son as I happily pinged and ponged from one store to another. I know they love, but laugh at me and think I’m ridiculous. And that is ok with me. Some people just shop differently than others.

They are great company shopping when on a mission. What are we here to buy? Great. We can only look at that, either buy it on the spot or not, and then leave. Uhhhhh…me? Not so much. Loads of conversation and probably way too many “maybe this?” or “maybe that!” for them. It’s cool. I can have the entire conversation on my own! It was fun. They bond over surviving me in general. And they held my hand a lot!

So today was a win all around for me. Even my food choices were back on track.

Tomorrow we say farewell. And I’m certain he will. We did our job and he will either rise or fall on his own petard. Thanksgiving break can’t come quick enough for me. Getting the airline tickets now.
