All of those are debatable, save for capacity, and capacity is what I was alluding to. You have a police revolver that holds six rounds being succeeded by a semi auto that carries fifteen. That’s two and half times the capacity. That’s military levels of capacity, thus my calling it the para-militarization of police.
Should police limit themselves to revolvers? Probably not. But I’d rather have some hot head who hasn’t had to fire a shot in anger shoot at me six times than fifteen times before they have to reload. Leave the heavy stuff for heavy situations. I’d reckon we’ve seen a substantial increase in accidental shootings with the advent of semi autos simply due to the higher capacity and ease in which they can be fired.
