I’m a non white person. Yet, I cannot disagree with you more.

America was, and is, an idea. Few other states can make such a claim. Are we perfect? No. But you know — we did put a man on the moon, help defeat global fascism, invent the internet, the air plane, the computer. We sent out scientists and doctors out into the world to make it a better place. We took on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa on an unprecedented level and blunted its progress.

We do things because they are simply good things to do. Yes, bad things have been done. Our founding fathers owned slaves. Subsequent American presidents owned slaves.

What does your negativity get you? You think you are persecuted, down trodden upon? Go be a Yazidi in ISIS control. Go be a Ba’hai in Iran. Go be a Rhoinga in Myanmar.

You’re sitting upon, benefiting from, and are actively a part of things and institutions that bad, racist America created.
