It meant a lot that we were able to work through it. My family has been going to their restaurant for over 30 years. They are one of the few family restaurants still holding on, and they are in the food desert part of the city. This is a very caring community and I had to remember that. Initially I thought about taking it above their head, but I remembered these are our neighbors. I think I taught one of their kids. Couldn’t hurt their family income without even trying to exhaust my other options.
I’m with you. The change is slow, but I think more and more people are becoming intolerable of it all. If this is what I have to go through and confront so godchildren and young cousins don’t have to, then it’s worth the struggle.
