Time to Make It Real
We’ve Closed a $15M Round of Funding
I’m happy to announce that Filament has closed a $15M round of funding to further our reach into the changing landscape of Industrial IoT. Strategic investors joining the Filament family include Intel Capital, Flex Lab IX, JetBlue Technology Ventures, and CME Ventures.
At Filament we focused first on making the unknown possible. Next we’re going to make what’s possible eminently real. Sometimes this means attempting things that are extremely difficult, risky, or just plain wrong. And make no mistake, we’ve arrived at several dead-ends in our work.
From Unknown Into the Possible
However, we believe we’ve discovered an aspect of this fast-growing market that will truly revolutionize how machines operate and are paid for. In so doing we enable exciting new industrial business models.
When machines are no longer considered data-generators, but are more autonomous and able to transact with other parties, lots of very interesting things become possible.
Now it’s time to make it real. With this round of funding, Filament will be moving from paid pilots to large production-grade installations. We have a world-class R&D team that, using their experience from founding and building Jabber, have catapulted Filament forward.
From the Possible into the Real
We’re now expanding our team to take the next step. We’re looking for experienced systems engineers, senior industrial and enterprise account managers, as well as application and sales engineers with specific experience in the industrial verticals on which we focus.
This journey has been difficult at times, exhilarating at others, and absolutely unlike anything most of us have ever experienced. It’s never been boring. The vision, goals, and team are something I would not trade for anything. Changing the world for the better is the most amazing gift members of a joint endeavor like this can give each other.
Onward!
