Breakfast seminar roadshow: the Bank Referral Scheme and what it means for your SME customers
As one of the three designated finance platforms for the government’s bank referral scheme for SMEs, we’ve decided to run breakfast seminars for commercial banking staff around the UK, initially starting with Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Edinburgh.
Why are we running roadshows?
At Funding Options we know how much business banking staff care about their SME customers. So we’ve teamed up with our friends at Begbies Traynor to run breakfast seminars around the UK, to answer any questions you have about the government’s new Bank Referral Scheme, and about Funding Options as one of the three designated finance platforms. As one commercial banking relationship manager put it to me recently, it is great to put a face to a name!
Who are the roadshows aimed at?
Our Bank Referral Scheme regional roadshows are aimed at business banking relationship managers, including those from specialist lending areas such as asset-based lending and commercial property. However, representatives from alternative finance providers and trusted SME advisors are also welcome to attend. We’ve chosen a breakfast seminar format in city-centre locations to fit in with your busy day.
What will the roadshows cover?
I’ll give an overview of the Bank Referral Scheme and Funding Options as one of the designated finance platforms. This will include where the Bank Referral Scheme came from, how best to leverage the scheme for your SME customers, what happens to SME customers that are referred, and what type of finance is available. You’re of course welcome to ask anything about the Bank Referral Scheme, or about Funding Options, and I’ll do my best to answer.
How to sign up for our roadshows?
We will initially be running breakfast seminar roadshows on the following dates in these locations:
Here’s a bit of context on Funding Options and its role as in the Bank Referral Scheme.
Funding Options is one of the three finance platforms designated by HM Treasury to take unsuccessful SME loan applicants under the government’s Bank Referral Scheme, which officially launched in November 2016. In fact, Funding Options are proud to claim the first successful Bank Referral Scheme case, sourcing alternative finance for an unsuccessful SME loan applicant just days after the scheme launched. You can read a recent case study here.
Like its two Bank Referral Scheme peers, to become a designated finance platform Funding Options went through an extensive government assessment process on our systems, processes and security, giving a level of assurance that most traditional introducers simply cannot match. In addition, we are fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Best of all, our service is free for our SME customers.
Funding Options is a one-stop-shop for almost any type of alternative debt finance. We have years of experience in helping SMEs to find the right finance, and are already a leading introducer to many of the UK’s flagship alternative finance providers. We have raised finance for SMEs across the country, from Belfast to Norfolk, and from Cornwall to the Isle of Skye (literally!).
Our panel of finance providers is carefully curated and regularly updated, to make sure we always offer wide market coverage with reputable lenders. Our lender panel includes many of the UK’s leading challenger banks and major independents you will probably recognise, as well as some innovative new alternative finance providers you might not. Our lenders are typically selected because they are regulated by the FCA, or perhaps are financially backed by the UK government, European Union or a major financial institution like your bank. Some other specialist lenders we work with because we’ve built trusted relationships with them over time.
We’ve helped firms to access traditional products such as terms loans, invoice finance, hire purchase, equipment leasing, bridging loans and commercial mortgages. We also offer innovative new types of funding including peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, revenue loans, alternative overdrafts and fast online lenders. For those who are not ready for commercial lending, we also work with government backed Start-Up Loans and not-for-profit social lenders.
Funding Option’s market-leading online technology is coupled with a friendly and professional team of business finance specialists, built from decades of experience with leading commercial lenders or introducers. We’re extremely proud to achieve the highest possible rating of “Excellent” on independent customer ratings website Trustpilot, and if you take the time to browse our recent reviews you’ll see just how often one of our expert team is namechecked. You might even find one of your referred SME customers!
I really hope you can join me at one of our referral scheme breakfast seminars, so that we can both put a face to a name!
