Twenty years ago the city of ‘Sverdlovsk’ became ‘Ekaterinburg’. The deep industrial heart of Russia lies next to the Ural mountains. After a couple of days in the capital Moscow, we flew to Ekaterinburg, one of the biggest cities of the former Soviet-Union.
