How does the Social Value Exchange benefit arts and cultural organisations?

We believe that innovation in commissioning is very important. However this report reveals the exciting exceptions rather than the rule. At the moment, a lot of government money goes to huge suppliers. Off the back of this fact, we’ve put in the hours and developed an innovative platform that applies the Social Value Act on those huge contracts.

The Social Value Exchange provides a platform for large suppliers to work with VCSE organisations that are delivering public sector outcomes (publicly funded or not). Suppliers can deliver their social value obligation by partnering with them and control of social value in an innovative way that is alignment with local commissioning priorities. Therefore as commissioning itself becomes more innovative by becoming more open and connected, we can help large suppliers to play their part by supporting the local economy and the local cultural sector.

We are working with VCSE organisations of all kinds, prioritising organisations who achieve the most important outcomes for local communities. This means cross sectoral, innovative projects are at the heart of it, and the most innovative and effective Arts and Cultural Activities are in prime position to benefit.
