Taking Pause From Real Estate
There are moments that Realtors must take pause from the business of real estate. We hope customers can understand, that Realtors need time to mourn, to heal, to reflect, to re-direct, to spend time with those we love and those who have shaped our lives on occasion. Sometimes, those occasions do not come by choice, but unexpectedly.
We honor our customers at First Story Real Estate, and we honor our agents. We are family, we are friends and we respect the work that is done every day, and night, and over wekeends and after hours for customers. When I entered real estate, there were those that said they love real estate because it allows them to set their own schedule. I laugh now.. because any busy agent can tell you just how quickly you loose all sense of time, of personal time, family time and time with friends, all while giving service to customers. It’s overwhelming really, and it’s difficult to manage time that you know you need with loved ones.
Today, one of our agents had an emergency. We want our customers to understand that nothing we do as Realtors ever trumps what our family, and our closest friends have given us. Without them, we are not the people that our customers see on a daily basis. When there is a loss, there is time to pause. There is time to turn the phone off, to forward calls and to have others handle what will be there when we return. That is what we do at this brokerage. Our customers will understand, because we only work with those who make us better people, who bring us joy, who will wait for us when the moments come that we have to pause. You see, we have stong personal connections to the customers that we work with. Our company culture requires us to take pause when needed.
Without pause, we are can not be the Realtors we want to be.
