Great pull! Yes, both Jack Ryan and the esteemed GHWB (aka 41) were CIA executives. And military men. JR was a marine, who was medically discharged after a helicopter accident. Bush enlisted in the Navy on his 18th birthday. Bush went on to make millions in the oil business before entering politics. Ryan was an investment broker, married a sugar momma (opthalmic surgeon), taught at the Naval Academy and then just happened to find himself working at the CIA. Presto, chango, he’s the President! That’s called a career pivot!
