The Muse Chronicles: 3

I took the glasses from the muse gingerly, carefully cradling the gift she granted me. I began to put them on when she stopped me.

“No,” she said. “While you can wear these glasses wherever you wish, they will serve you better in the world, surrounded by people.”

I nodded and folded the arms of the glasses on to one another.

“Well, do you at least have a case I could carry them in and protect them?” I asked.

She nodded gravely and handed me a small glasses case. I enclosed the glasses in them, and then I left.
